Are your locations accessible for the moving impaired, walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers?

Yes - we are accessible with necessary and helpful ramps, walkways, and bathrooms; however, some of our locations are over 100 years old. To best serve you, please read these site-specific notes below and let us know how we can meet your needs.

South Lamar Tasting Room:

A newer build, this tasting room is our most accessible. There are handicap parking spaces located on the same level and within 100 ft of the entrance.  Tables and chairs are counter height (36” and 26.5” respectively). Additionally, we have one adjustable table that converts easily to dining height (32”) to fit wheelchairs and anyone needing dining chair height (20”). All chairs have backs. While we can make adjustments at the time of the event, please let us know in advance if you need seating at the dining height table so that we can have it ready.

Hyde Park Tasting Room - Cheese House:

Our 110+ year old historic Cheese House has a ramp from the parking lot, which also has handicap-reserved spots (all located on the northside of our building, where the entrance is). Our main cheese tasting room has four bar height tables and chairs (42” and 30” high, respectively). Our bar height chairs do have backs; some have arm rests and some do not. We also offer a dining height table (30.5” h) in our annex room. Folks can sit at this table in wheelchairs or we have a bench (18” h - does not have a back). To see a photo of the location and relationship of the annex to the main tasting room, please click here. Should you wish to sit in the annex at the dining height table, please let us know in advance and we will have it ready for you. We recommend arriving early so that it is easier to navigate the main tasting room. Once all seats are filled, it is a cozy space.

Hyde Park Cheese Shop:

The ramp walkway is accessible from the north, entering from the alleyway road and walking in front Uncle Nicky’s. (Note, there is a step to the south between our Cheese Shop and Hyde Park Bar & Grill, so it is not accessible from that side.) The Cheese Shop is  cozy inside. Wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers do fit, albeit snuggly; our cheesemongers are comfortable asking fellow customers to share the path. We are a retail experience only so we do not offer seating inside our shop; if you need to take a break, let a monger know and we will gladly grab a stool from our back office for you. There is handicap parking available in the lot behind our shop, as well as in the small lot in front of our Cheese House (across the street).

If you are at all concerned about the accessibility of our space, please reach out to our support team. We are always happy to do what we can to accommodate all folks.
